Vinted Shoppers Express Anger About Size Modifications

Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing.

The second-hand shopping app has revised its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel failing to inform every member regarding the update.

Digital Channels Backlash

Many shoppers and sellers are posting online saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category than originally posted due to the recalibration.

Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces.

They have suggested members to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually when needed, which has left users frustrated.

Size Classification Updates

Previously, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.

User Accounts

Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".

"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.

A different member, from Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22.

"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she said.

Required Changes

Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".

"This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she stated.

Marketplace Information

The app has more than 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK.

It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.

This represents another occasion that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
