19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately splitting with former trainer his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden title following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after March of the previous year.

Success also indicates he has secured 21 victories at twenty-one different events.

"For the first time I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to get a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six finals, comprising in Halle previously this season.

The player's defensive strategy and frequent reactions on court had caused commentators to wonder if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an improved service.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

The pair exchanged break points in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to force a third set.

The opponent saved 4 early chances in a competitive deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, Medvedev secured the title with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
